These are the recommended steps to becoming a new member. However, new members are welcomed throughout the academic year. Feel free to stop by any meeting early and talk to our staff!

1. Applications

CEL is a non-selective organization, but we do have an application to get to know our new members. CEL accepts applications throughout the year, but please submit your application, so it can be processed before the New Engineering Member Orientation (NEMOs). NEMOs begin the week of January 29, 2023.

2. New Engineering Member Orientations

New Engineering Member Orientations (NEMOs) allow our staff members to get to know new members better and help us match new members to a committee within the organization. After you submit an application, we will reach out to you in order to schedule a time that works for both parties.

3. Begin Attending Meetings and Events

Our meetings are on Monday nights from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. at Emerging Technologies Building (ETB) Room TBD. During meetings, we will start by going over a general list of announcements to keep everyone up to date. We will then head into a time of worship and afterward hear from a speaker about something relevant to us as Christians and Engineers. We will then wrap things up by going into committee time, where we discuss and plan our various activities. If you are not in a committee, go and talk to our Involvement Executive, Connor Brooks, as everyone else is breaking up into committees.

4. Pay Membership Dues

Membership costs $65 for the entire 2023-2024 school year. If you are joining for the spring semester, dues are $40. You can pay dues in cash or check at a meeting (see Joe Sanders or Clarice Flores) or online by clicking here.
