These are the steps for becoming a new member. New members are welcomed throughout the year. If you haven’t completed your application yet, don’t worry! We’d still love to have you at our next meeting. Visit the Linktree tab on this site and join Flare, our primary communication app for students!

1. Applications

CEL is a non-selective organization, but we do have an application to get to know our new members.

  • Download and fill out the Member Application

  • Email your completed application to md.exec.cel@gmail.com

2. New Engineering Member Orientations

New Engineering Member Orientations (NEMOs) allow our staff members to get to know new members better. After you submit an application, we will reach out to you to schedule a time that works for both parties.

3. Begin Attending Meetings and Events

CEL has meetings on Monday nights from 7:30 to 9:00 pm at Jack E. Brown Chemical Engineering Building (CHEN), Room 108. Meetings are led by our Meeting Exec, Ben Willis, and include general announcements, upcoming events, worship, and fellowship. We alternate each week between Speaker Meetings, where we hear from faculty and industry leaders about their experiences as Christians in the workforce, and Prayer Meetings, where our Spiritual Life Committee leads us through Bible study and discussion. Then we wrap things up by going into committee time, where we discuss and plan our various activities. If you are not in a committee, talk to our Membership Development Executive, Payton Wright, for information about the different committees. Committees include Inreach, Outreach, Spiritual Life, and Media & Marketing. As a staff member about these to learn more!

4. Pay Membership Dues

Membership costs $75 for the entire 2026-2027 school year. If you are joining for a single semester, dues are $40. You can pay dues in cash or check at a meeting (see Hannah Thomas) or online by clicking here. Dues cover all of our annual events, including Fall Retreat, Spring Retreat, Formal, Alumni Tailgate, Fun Fridays, Outreach events, and more.
